The sender can send the money at Service Provider Location. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Fill in the “To Send Money” form at any Western Union® Service Provider location counter.

  2. Present the completed form, along with the money you wish to send and the transfer fee3, and your identification documentation as required4.

  3. After completing the money transfer, you will receive a receipt with a Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN). Inform the receiver of the sender's name, approximate amount sent, MTCN, and country where the money was sent from. Do not disclose your transaction details including MTCN to anyone other than your receiver.

  4. Within minutes1, the money you sent will be available for pay out to the named receiver at any Western Union Service Provider location in the destination country.

   Banking

The sender can send the money via China Everbright Bank and Agricultural Bank of China Online Banking. Please follow the steps below:

   Transactions via China Everbright Bank
   Personal Online Banking

  1. Visit any branch of China Everbright Bank with ID of People’s Republic of China to apply for a China Everbright Bank Sunshine Card (debit card) and online banking (Professional) service.

  2. Please logon to the China Everbright Bank website at www.cebbank.com and log into Personal Online Banking. You can send Western Union® Money Transfer transactions with your own Sunshine Card (debit card) via online banking.

  3. Please log into Personal Online Banking (Professional), click "Overseas Financial Service", choose "Western Union", and then choose "Send Western Union Money Transfer", select your China Everbright Bank debit card No., receiver’s name, receiving country, payout currency, expected send amount, purpose of remittance and P.S.
    In the case of first time sending money via online banking, please fill in your personal information.

  4. Accept the transaction terms and conditions, click "Confirm". Your money will be sent out from your China Everbright Bank debit card directly.

Send Western Union® Money TransferSM
   Transactions via Agricultural Bank
   of China Personal Online Banking

  1. Visit any branch of Agricultural Bank of China with your Agricultural Bank of China debit card and apply for online banking (Professional) service.

  2. Please logon to the Agricultural Bank of China website at www.abchina.com and log into Personal Online Banking. In the case of sending money via online banking for the first time, click “Exchange”, choose “Western Union”, and then choose “Register/Modify Personal Information”. Please register online to verify your personal information, including your name in English, your address in English and other required information. The verification process will take 1-2 days to complete. Upon completion, you can send Western Union® Money TransferSM transactions with your own Agricultural Bank of China debit card via online banking.

  3. Once the verification is confirmed, please logon Agricultural Bank of China Online Banking, click “Exchange”, choose “Western Union”, and then choose “Send Money”. Select your Agricultural Bank of China debit card No., send currency, enter expected send amount, your contact phone and mobile number. Additionally, you should select ID verification, purpose of remittance and P.S.
    In the case of first time sending money to the receiver, please fill the receiver’s name and address in English, contact phone number, and select receiving country and payout currency. If you need to keep the receiver as the long-term receiver, please select “Save the receiver’s information automatically”.

  4. Accept the transactions T&Cs, click “Submit”. Confirm the transaction details, then click “Confirm”. Your money will be sent out from your Agricultural Bank of China debit card directly.

DIRECT TO BANK

Singapore, Canada, Malaysia, United Kingdom, New Zealand and Hong Kong to China cash directly sent to a designated bank account

Follow the steps below to use the Direct to Bank Service *:

  1. Sender should fill out the 'Direct to Bank' form at a designated Western Union® Agent location, and provide the receiver's mandatory information as below:

    • Receiver's name;

    • Receiver's phone number;

    • Receiver’s bank name and bank account number.


  2. Sender should present the completed form to the counter staff along with the money sender wishes to send and the transfer fee#1, plus the sender’s identification documentation.

  3. After completing the money transfer, sender will be issued a receipt bearing a Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN). Sender should then contact the receiver and provide the sender’s mandatory information as below to the receiver:

    • Sender’s name;

    • MTCN;

    • Sending amount;

    • The sender’s country where money was sent from.


    Please do not disclose your transaction details to anyone except your named receiver.

*a) A receiver's first Direct to Bank transaction will generally take between 24-72 hours to reach the receiver's bank account, subject to the time taken for the receiver to contact the China hotline to verify the mandatory information, bank operating hours, banking and local holidays, no system error and other applicable restrictions. On the second and subsequent Direct to Bank transactions to the same bank account, it will take as fast as within 2 hours, to reach the receiver's bank account, subject to the time taken for transaction batch, bank operating hours, banking and local holidays, no system error, transactions reach China during banking hours in China and other applicable restrictions.

b) The receiver's name and bank account information provided by the sender must match exactly the information of the receiver on the destination bank's records. If the information provided does not so match or if the sender otherwise provides incomplete or illegible information about the bank or the bank account number, the money transfer will not be credited to the bank account. In such cases, Western Union will refund the money transfer principal to the sender but will retain the money transfer fee.

c) If the receiver cannot confirm their details, the sender may do so by calling
(8621) 6866 4622 (charges apply). The transaction will be rejected if receiver details are not provided by 4PM China time on the 3rd banking day (from the date the money was sent).

d) Senders and receivers will not be notified by Western Union or its Service Providers that funds have reached a designated bank account.
